RSI is invested in the success of its surrounding communities. For every 100 jobs we created, another 60 are created to support those IT workers. In addition, according to GRU workforce impact study in 2014, for each $1,000,000 invested of capital and payroll that is put into the community, another $1,000,000 is generated.
As a strong proponent of technology in education, RSI has also been promoting STEM programs for many years. RSI helped bring the first STEM festival to Augusta, Georgia in 2012. Since then, RSI has expanded its STEM Education program by partnering with area universities and helping them shape the curriculum for students in the Information Systems and Computer Science majors. RSI also gives students opportunities for hands-on IT experience through job shadowing programs and internships.
An exciting event we look forward to every year is the annual RSI Hackathon competition. Local students are given the chance to compete for several prizes, including the grand prize of a paid internship at RSI. Each team is given content to create a mobile app and then they race the clock to finish within the four hour time frame. We had successful events in both Georgia and Arkansas and look forward to future events next year!
